GM says, "Striking camp has become a science for you. Tents get broken down

for storage on the Gashaants."

GM says, "The bland breakfast ratios are eaten. It's just more of the same."

You say, "This heat ain't much worse than the Panhandle. I miss that native

food though. It was tasty."

AllenPrice is used to striking camp. Did it for years in the Army.

GM says, "However, in the distance a differance. The slight cross wind

reveals the dust cloud of approaching riders."

Emsworth says, "With a bit of honey the biscuits go down well enough."

GM says, "They are approaching at a canter, weapons at the ready, but not

drawn."

GM says, "The dust makes it a bit tough to count them, but as they get

closer you see it's about a half-a-dozen."

Emsworth fetches his Winchester carbine while Wilkins fetches the Holland

and the Ourdey and sands by him.

Emsworth says, "sTands by, not sands by..."

'Buff' Teatam draws his carefully rationed bottle of hotsauce... then swears

at the sight of the riders, "If them's Oh-no-trians or Shastapshi, they're

gonna wish they left me too my breakfast." He grabs his Henry and stands,

removing the cloth from his throat.

GM says, "The field glasses show these are steppe riders. Cartwright-Lloyd

is beside himself and graps his camera. "

GM says, "The range closes steadily. 300 yards"

GM says, "250"

AllenPrice cooly prepares his rifle.

GM says, "200"

Emsworth slips a round into the breech.

GM says, "They have javelins and swords, however they continue keep their

weapons at the ready, but not drawn."

GM says, "150"

GM says, "100"

GM says, "50"

Emsworth also keeps the muzzle of his gun pointed down.

You say, "I mean shooting and being shot at it one thing, but I'm plum

unlikable before my first cup o' Joe. Of course they might just want a cup

themselves. Easy boys. They ain't aiming at us and they ain't hooping and

hollering. Remember they's here first. Aim at the sky till we sees what they

want. I'll step forward if you want and halloo them."

AllenPrice follows suit.

...though ready to point and shoot at a moment's notice.

GM says, "They stop at 20 yards"

Emsworth says, "Well, Mr. Grimes? It's your show, I believe. What do you

want us to do?"

GM says, "One trots his Gashaant in front of the others. He looks you over

sternly, You can feel his strength of will as he tries to impress you."

AllenPrice refuses to be impressed.

Thomas Grimes steps forward slowly. "Um good morning chap. How may we be of

assistance?

Hill Martian Leader. "Toraan makne goswa ne.

Emsworth tries to see if that makes any sense in Parhoon.

'Buff' Teatam tries to remember the word for howdy in Parhooni.

AllenPrice resists the temptation to use the Natives Understand You If You

Speak Loudly And Clearly technique.

Thomas Grimes turns and calls for kaashneek.

You say, "Thank God."

Kashnnek trembles as he faces the Hill Martian. They exchange words rapidly,

Emsworth quickly realizes it's not Parhooni.

Emsworth shrugs resignedly.

GM says, "On hearing someone speaking his language, the Hill Martians

noticably relax."

Emsworth says, "It's Greek to me, I'm afraid."

'Buff' Teatam whispers to Price, "They seem a lot like Apaches."

AllenPrice says, in Greek, "That's certainly not Greek."

Hans [to JFZeigler]: That's Greek to mee, too.

AllenPrice nods in agreement.

Emsworth winks.

Kashneek turns to speak toyou. "They are from the southern shisnmik clan.

Emsworth . o O ( I didn't know Kashneek spoke Toyou... )

Kashnnek continues. "They ask what is your business on their lands."

Thomas Grimes nods before replying. "Tell them we hunt the Steppe-Tiger and

mean no disrespect."

Hill Martian Leader blinks and then the group laughs. He responds to Kashnek

then he moves back to his men.

Emsworth mutters, "Let me guess: 'Men don't hunt the Steppe-Tiger. The

Steppe-Tiger hunts men!' or words to that effect."

You say, "I guess they don't think much of our chances against a steppe

tiger."

Kashneek blanches as he translates. "H-He says, he would normally ask

tribute to cross their lands, but you will soon donate all you have to the

Steppes and they will collect then."

AllenPrice grins.

You say, "Kasneek: ask him if he's a bettin' man!"

Emsworth says, "Offer them a good-will gift. To show our hearts are good,

not tribute." to Thomas Grimes.

GM says, "The Hill Martians turn off and ride back off into the Steppes, on

the wind you catch their laughter as they fade into the distance."

AllenPrice shrugs. "Perhaps they can't hunt the steppe tiger. They can't

cross the gulf between worlds either."

GM says, "You relax and return to striking your camp."

You say, "I'll give him a ggod will gift, a load of metal... in his backside

if that jackass laughs at me again."

GM says, "Once ready, you again press on into the endless steppes."

AllenPrice says, "The best revenge is to greet them again. With a steppe

tiger pelt rolled up on the back of one of our pack beasts."

You say, "That too."

Emsworth says, "Ahem! didn't we see a steppe tiger yesterday? Weren't there

tracks to follow?"

GM says, "You did spot one in the distance and have moved in the direction

it was last seen. Those with Tracking, please roll it."

AllenPrice . o O ( Not I, said the doctor. )

Emsworth rolled 1d6 and got 4.

On 2d6, you rolled 7.

GM says, "Only Teatum has tracking."

Emsworth says, "say Isn't it a Wilderness Travel cascade? Sorry."

You say, "OOC About time I contributed something more than color

commentary."

AllenPrice says, "No, it's under Endurance."

Emsworth says, "Right! Got it. Or rather, I haven't got it..."

You say, "OOC I have got Foraging at 5 also. :D"

GM says, "He uses ever trick in the book he learned from the American

natives, but the signs are different. He finds no trace of the big cat."

GM says, "Buff roll track twice more please for the day."

AllenPrice says, "All right, perhaps we can't track the beast directly, but

I have high Observation and Biology. I can perhaps guess where its natural

behavior patterns might have encouraged it to go?"

Emsworth says, "And I have high observation and moderate biology. "

GM says, "You do have skills amoung you that give you the chance to proceed

and several of you have had hunting experience. Your chances are not

impossible, just difficult. Plus yo uhave the sound of the Hill Martian

laughter to spur y ou on."

Emsworth says, "Did you read any descriptions of the steppe tiger, Grimes? "

AllenPrice says, "What shall I roll against."

AllenPrice . o O ( ? )

GM says, "First lets have buff rool his tracking."

GM says, "roll even"

GM says, "I'll give half biology a shot."

Emsworth says, "I have to go AFK for a few minutes. Call of nature."

GM says, "That will give Emsworth and Price 1 die."

JFZeigler rolls 1d6, and gets a 0.

JFZeigler rolls 1d, and gets a 3.

AllenPrice . o O ( Probably not. )

Peracles [to Robert]: you still here?

GM rolled 2d6 and got 7.

GM rolled 2d6 and got 8.

GM says, "You continue on into the steppes most of the day you find no trace

of your quarry."

GM says, "Everyone please roll Observation."

AllenPrice says, "5 dice in my case?"

GM says, "Yes full observation"

JFZeigler rolls 5d, and gets a 14.

You say, "Sorry, I got a phone call."

On 1d6, you rolled 4.

On 2d6, you rolled 10.

Hans rolls 1d6, and gets a 0.

You say, "Sorry. Wrong stat. The roll 2 was right. :D"

Peracles [to Robert]: Right 2

Emsworth rolled 1d6 and got 6.

Emsworth says, "Well, that's as good as I can do it ;-)."

GM says, "Please roll observation please. Price has a 14"

Emsworth rolled 5d6 and got 13.

You say, "I got an idea. Le'ts find the nearest waterhole and set up a blind

downwind of it. Tiger has to drink."

GM says, "As you near the end of the days ride, both Emsworth and Price you

spot movement in the grass."

Emsworth alert the others.

AllenPrice brings his rifle to ready.

AllenPrice says, "Range>"

GM says, "Please roll your Ride as the creature's scream startles your

Gashaants."

Emsworth rolled 2d6 and got 9.

GM says, "It's close less than 20 yards."

AllenPrice says, "I don't have Ride (Gashaant). I do have Ride (Horse). . ."

Emsworth says, "What is it?"

JFZeigler rolls 2d, and gets a 11.

Hans [to JFZeigler]: Half that is your Ride (gashant).

Peracles [to JFZeigler]: Your cascade skill is 1

Emsworth says, "I'll roll for Wilkins, too."

Hans rolls 2d6, and gets a 0.

Emsworth rolled 2d6 and got 3.

Peracles [to JFZeigler]: Cascades are one half of primary skill rounded

down.

JFZeigler rolls 1d, and gets a 3.

Emsworth . o O ( All that training don't seem to've helped ol' wilkins

much... )

On 2d6, you rolled 8.

GM says, "I'll roll for the grimes and wittington."

GM rolled 3d6 and got 9.

GM rolled 1d6 and got 2.

You say, "I spent a GXP on my Gashant skill. :)"

GM rolled 1d6 and got 3.

GM rolled 1d6 and got 3.

GM says, "The piercing scream of the creature sends panic through the

gashaants."

Hans [to Robert]: Two points, you mean.

GM says, "Lady Grimes keeps her seat, but the brothers grimes, wittington,

wilkins, and price fight to control their wildly bucking mounts."

Robert [to Hans]: Uh, right. (Corrects sheet hurriedly.)

Peracles [to Hans]: it is the creature known as the Teshuwaan. A reptile

like creature that stands 6 feet tall.

Hans [to Peracles]: So Teatam and Emsworth can shoot?

GM says, "Yes"

Emsworth will shoot once per action.

GM says, "the thing is fast and races in close to Emsworth. Buff may fire,

but any sixes rolled have a chance to strike emsworth due to the close

proximity."

Hans [to Peracles]: how many shots can I get off?

GM says, "I will be on you in one action, you can get off one shot."

GM says, "Then it will be in melee range. You can shoot in melee range, but

you have to use yo ur close combat skill."

Emsworth says, "Or two at -1 to each?"

Peracles [to Hans]: Yes

AllenPrice says, "If I don't have sufficient control of my gashaant to

shoot, I will jump off the gashaant. Unless the thing is bearing down on

*me*, of course."

Emsworth says, "If it's that close, I'll shoot twice."

You say, "I'll use my pistols and fire three shots for my first action.

That's a minus 1 for the multiple shoots and no minus for range? Correct?"

Emsworth rolled 1d6 and got 2.

Emsworth rolled 1d6 and got 5.

Emsworth says, "One hit."

Peracles [to JFZeigler]: It's not bearing down on you, so you can roll

agility to jump free, your mount will run away though.

On 4d6, you rolled 9.

GM rolled 1d6 and got 5.

On 1d6, you rolled 2.

On 1d6, you rolled 2.

On 1d6, you rolled 3.

AllenPrice says, "Rolling agility:"

JFZeigler rolls 5d, and gets a 7.

AllenPrice . o O ( Whoa. Where did that prairie dog hole come from? )

Emsworth . o O ( clumsy! )

Peracles [to JFZeigler]: You jump free, but land badly. You're not hurt, but

you are prone and can take no action this round.

GM says, "The creature is riddled by four hts and drops at Emworth's feet,

dead before it hits the ground."

AllenPrice sighs, climbs to his feet, and goes to recapture his mount.

Emsworth says, "Whew!! Thanks, Teatam, that was neat shooting!"

GM says, "Price's mount races off in pure panic."

GM says, "Alexandra Grimes spurs her mount in pursuit."

GM rolled 3d6 and got 7.

GM rolled 3d6 and got 6.

GM rolled 3d6 and got 12.

GM says, "It takes her nearly 20 minutes to catch the beast, but her

persistance pays off."

AllenPrice tries to look unabashed when she returns with it.

You say, "Thanks. You held your ground real well Mr. Emsworth. And you can

call me Buuf, like I said."

Emsworth follows after Mrs. Grimes and keep a sharp lookout in the grass

around her. To the best of his ability.

GM says, "Her mount and Price's are both blown by the wild sprint. A

sheepish Thomas Grimes declares that it would be best to call it a day right

here."

AllenPrice will take the time to examine the creature.

'Buff' Teatam stays with the party and switches to his rifle, in case the

critter had a mate or pal.

AllenPrice says, "Roll against Biology to produce a good field description

of it?"

Alexandra Grimes smiles at the Doctor's sheepish look. "Your mount good sir.

You may wish to keep a deeper seat and pinch your knees tighter next time it

tries to spook."

AllenPrice bows and accepts the advice with a show of good grace.

'Buff' Teatam says, "Hey Doc, save me some hide for a pair of boots." He

pulls out his hip flasks and hands it to Mr. Emsworth. He studiously avoids

the exchange between Mrs. Grimes and the Doctor but gives her an admiring

look.

GM says, "Kashneek quickly moves to butcher the teshuwaan."

AllenPrice says, "Are these good eating, Kashneek?"

Emsworth carefully tries a sip of Teatam's flask and hands it back with a

'Thank you'.

Robert [to Hans]: Mind you the flask has frontier hooch in it. But not

drinking is slightly more hazardous. :D

GM says, "The doctor can roll half his medicine skill to try and save enough

hide for boots."

Hans says: "Unless it is superior brandy, Bertie probably won't like it very

much, but he'll be polite about it.

JFZeigler rolls 2d, and gets a 9.

'Buff' Teatam nods.

Kashneek nods vigorously. "Oh my yes good sirling doctor. We are eating good

tonight."

GM says, "The doctor successfully removes enough hide for a pair of boots."

Emsworth says, "I for one have worked up quite an appetite."

AllenPrice takes notes about the beast's internal anatomy as Kashneek works.

You say, "I bet it tastes like rattlesnake. That's good lean meat. Oh...

thank you Doc. I think I could the whole critter myself. Too bad them

jackass Hill people wasn't 'round for this."

GM says, "Kashneek takes change of the meat harvested from the teshuwaan and

true to his word, the beast is surprisingly good eating. Mildly remanicent

of frog."

Hans says, "I think I meant that Bertie tried Teatam's hooch cautiously, not

carefully..."

GM says, "You move away from the carcass to avoid the many scanvengers of

the steppes and set up your camp up wind of the remains."

Robert [to Hans]: Good thing, it is spit take inducing. Think raw alcohol,

spring water and some coal tar for flavor. Maybe a little acid for flavor.

GM . o O ( Yipe! )

Emsworth says, "I never tried rattlesnake. When I was in Texas my hosts told

me about it, but they fed me beef and turkey, mostly."

GM says, "You hear the yelp of night creatures, but with an obvious target

to feast on, none of them bother you and you pass the night quietly."

You say, "No rattlesnake. They must have been out. Pity. Sort of like

chicken."

GM says, "The next morning is very much like all the rest have been."

'Buff' Teatam cleans his revolvers and oils them carefully, making sure they

have no dirt or sand to foul their workings.

GM says, "The days blur due to the sameness. Have we been here 10 or 11

days? Does it matter?"

GM says, "Buff please roll your tracking."

Emsworth has replaced the expended rounds in his carbine, btw.

On 2d6, you rolled 9.

You say, "OOC Can I look for some water or food to supplement our rations?"

GM says, "Tody is more promising. You find actual Tiger tracks!"

GM says, "Roll foraging"

Emsworth says, "Oh, Mr. Grimes. What I meant yesterday was that when you

resolved to hunt steppe tigers, did you try to find any accounts from others

who have done so before us?"

On 5d6, you rolled 10.

'Buff' Teatam dohs.

GM says, "You find with Kashneek's help some edible grasses to add flavor,

but it looks like you will be having more jerky, bully beef and biscuits

again."

GM says, "Buff roll your Observation."

Wilkins did pack a few delicacies along, but Emsworth big trunk full of

superior comestibles were left in Moeris Lacus. He freely shares out what he

has brought along, though.

On 2d6, you rolled 7.

GM says, "You return to the group with your "bounty" and continue on."

GM says, "Those of you with Fieldcraft please roll."

Emsworth asks Teatam to give him some pointers in tracking.

On 2d6, you rolled 3.

GM says, "Those without fieldcraft, please roll half observation."

Emsworth rolled 2d6 and got 5.

JFZeigler rolls 2d, and gets a 9.

'Buff' Teatam tries to give a few pointers on tracking.

GM says, "Buff I show your fieldcraft at 4"

Emsworth . o O ( Too bad S:1889 doesn't use half dice. )

You say, "I have it as two on my sheet... "

Emsworth rolled 2d6 and got 3.

GM . o O ( another one of it's many charms. )

Total: 10 players, 6 of whom have been active recently.

Emsworth says, "That roll was just an experiment."

GM . o O ( Hmmms, I have it on both my electronic and hard copy sheet as

four.  )

You say, "I really doubt it. I only had one term in the service. But who am

I to complain"

Hans [to Robert]: You could have bought it up.

Robert [to Hans]: I had no idea there was a discrepancy. I think I was right

to roll 2 dice.

GM says, "I hate to break the momentum to go run through the scout and

shootist skills."

GM says, "I'll have ro verify post game."

Emsworth says, "i'll do it."

On 4d6, you rolled 13.

'Buff' Teatam okays. Sorry to throw off the game. He'll check it out.

Hans [to Peracles]: You remember which volume of TRMGS the American careers

were in?

GM says, "The ones Robert used are from Challenge."

You say, "Sorry guys. It should be three according to challenge. Shall I

reroll?"

GM says, "I just checked yes roll three"

On 3d6, you rolled 12.

Emsworth says, "Scouts have Fieldcraft 2 and Shootists have fieldcraft 2.

This is Loren wiseman's article from Challenge reprinted in the TRMGS."

GM says, "As you ride, you see the endless rolling lands of the steppes."

GM says, "I thought it was four, but trying to keep this moving, I found the

scouts, but not shootists. We'll stick with his roll of 13 on 4 dice."

Hans [to Peracles]: http://www.heliograph.com/trmgs/trmgs4/yankee.shtml

You say, "I'll go over my sheet tonight using TRMGS. SOmething is wrong

here. Again apologies, Per."

Peracles whispers, "The ground drops off slightly and your scout's training

has the hair on the back of your neck standing up, good place for an

ambush."

"Per" could refer to Peracles (#1162), perlmunkee (#1994), peregrinus

(#1562), or Peregrine (#535).

GM says, "I'll check again as well. I'm certain it is 4"

Your message has been sent.

'Buff' Teatam stops the group, or tries to by holding hs hand up in warning.

He listens carefully for any sounds.

Peracles whispers, "The scout line officer has fieldcraft 2  Under the

branch skills."

GM says, "As Buff tells you to hold up, please roll full observation."

JFZeigler rolls 5d, and gets a 23.

Emsworth rolled 5d6 and got 22.

On 2d6, you rolled 6.

You need to specify someone to whisper to.

GM says, "Both Emsworth and Price blink in surprise as not a hundred yards

away in a slight fold in the plain, you see someone laying in wait. Bows

drawn."

You need to specify someone to whisper to.

Emsworth says, "Bowmen at 2 o'clock, 100 yards."

GM says, "The native sense their ambush is blown and open fire."

AllenPrice shouts "Hyah!" and brings his rifle down to ready position.

Emsworth says, "At 100 yards they must be at -3 to hit?"

GM says, "A sheaf of arrows and a single gunshot fly your way. One shot

spangs of the dirt near Emsworth, the rest all miss badly."

'Buff' Teatam draws his Henry and aims it carefully for his first action.

GM says, "From the gully, a group of riders spring forth at a charge. "

AllenPrice says, "I have a 75 yard effective range, so I'm at -1. "

Emsworth points his carbine at the riders and prepare to fire as soon as

they're within 60 yards.

GM says, "Range is 90 yards."

AllenPrice takes a shot.

You say, "Me too. Which gives me a one. Hence the aiming."

JFZeigler rolls 1d, and gets a 6.

Hans [to Peracles]: would the colonel and his batman rouse themselves to

help in this situation, do you think?

GM says, "They and the other NPCs will assist."

'Buff' Teatam waits for the riders to close in, knowing he stinks with a

rifle.

Emsworth says, "Sorry, I keep mixing up my ranges. Emsworth will fire at

once."

GM says, "The Gashaants close rapidly."

GM says, "70 yards"

Emsworth says, "One shot per action. Throw all four at the same time?"

AllenPrice naw hits on a 3 or less. Will take two shots in his next turn.

JFZeigler rolls 1d, and gets a 5.

JFZeigler rolls 1d, and gets a 6.

On 1d6, you rolled 2.

GM says, "You figure one round of missile fire, then they will reach close

combat range."

AllenPrice . o O ( Good grief. )

Emsworth says, "The my third and fourth shot will be with no minus, right?"

Emsworth rolled 1d6 and got 4.

Emsworth rolled 1d6 and got 1.

Emsworth rolled 1d6 and got 4.

Emsworth rolled 1d6 and got 5.

Emsworth says, "One hit."

GM says, "One rider falls from his saddle"

AllenPrice grins and draws his claymore as the Martians close.

Hans [to Peracles]: How many are there?

GM says, "The steppes ring with the fusilade of gunfire. The Martians do not

waver at the lose of their comrade."

GM says, "Seven now"

GM says, "You can take one shot at normal marksman skill before they reach

close combat range"

'Buff' Teatam draws his pistol, retaining his grip on the rifle in his left

hand. He aims and fires at the closest reaver in cavalry fashion (though not

US Cavalry)

AllenPrice says, "Okay. Last shot:"

GM says, "If you chose to have melee weapon and missile weapon you are minus

one skill and must use your close combat skill to shoot."

JFZeigler rolls 1d, and gets a 3.

You say, "Sorry how many pisotl shots can I manage before I start clubbing?"

Wilkins waits until they are within 30 yards, then fires at the two that are

aiming closest towards Emsworth and himself.

Emsworth says, "Rolling for Wilkins, 2 to hit."

AllenPrice shouts "CRUACHAN!" and lunges to the attack with his blade.

Emsworth rolled 1d6 and got 3.

GM says, "As a shootist, you can get off three shots. First will use

marksman -1, other two will be close combat -1"

Emsworth rolled 1d6 and got 3.

You say, "So that's 4/1/1 sigh."

On 1d6, you rolled 6.

On 1d6, you rolled 2.

Emsworth says, "And one shot at normal marksmanship for Bertie:"

On 1d6, you rolled 1.

Emsworth rolled 1d6 and got 1.

Emsworth says, "A hit!"

GM says, "Two hits, but only one falls."

GM says, "The colonel drops one calmly, then they are upon you."

GM says, "five remain to fight."

GM says, "One each for emsworth, price, teatum, the colonel, and wilkins."

Emsworth says, "for his second action Bertie will jump down from his gashant

on the far side from the attackers and shout for Wilkins to do the same."

GM says, "Roll agility to dismount."

Emsworth says, "Emsworth first, then Wilkins, both a 3:"

Emsworth rolled 3d6 and got 13.

Emsworth rolled 3d6 and got 8.

GM . o O ( Okay this is where the rolls and the limitations of the MOO run

into a problem. )

GM says, "You do both dismount cleanly."

GM says, "Melee weapons use several dice to attack, but it's the roll PER

die I have to see, so the standard 'roll x" won't work."

AllenPrice says, "So we roll 1d multiple times."

GM says, "This is going to slow to a crawl, but you will have to use roll 1

for each die your weapon uses."

You say, "Well, I'm still shooting. It's all at 1 for me now anyway. :)"

AllenPrice says, "You may want to take us in order."

GM says, "We'll go in agility order."

GM says, "That will be Buff, Price, then Emsworth/wilkins."

On 1d6, you rolled 4.

Emsworth says, "I was hoping my gashant would shield me from the melee for a

bit and maybe give me a chance to get another shot at someone."

GM says, "These are experienced riders, you can fire again, but then the

rider gets his melee attack."

Emsworth says, "Any little bit helps. Normal marksmanship?"

GM says, "The shootist fires one shot, leaving 2 in his weapon, but the

rider jinks in time for the shot to miss."

AllenPrice will roll for his greatsword. 4 Hit Dice. My Edged Weapons is 2.

JFZeigler rolls 1d, and gets a 3.

JFZeigler rolls 1d, and gets a 1.

JFZeigler rolls 1d, and gets a 4.

JFZeigler rolls 1d, and gets a 3.

GM says, "Close combat, he's right on top of you."

You say, "CC 1. I'm going down."

Emsworth says, "Roll for Emsworth's shot, 1 to hit."

Emsworth rolled 1d6 and got 5.

Emsworth . o O ( Made no difference). )

JFZeigler [to Peracles]: That should be a hit. Wound number is 1 + Strength,

so 5 total for me.

GM says, "The rider successfully parries and ripostes, but misses the

doctor."

Emsworth says, "wilkin's weapon is empty. He'll reload one barrel, then

shoot next action."

GM . o O ( I'm using regular dice on my end, you'll have to trust me on the

rolls. )

GM says, "Both Buff and Emsworth roll your save. It's only a 1 on a d6"

Emsworth rolled 1d6 and got 3.

On 1d6, you rolled 3.

'Buff' Teatam dohs.

GM says, "You both feel the bite of the Martian's blades, each taking one

wound."

GM says, "The Colonel attacks and is again parried."

GM says, "Wilkin's foe slices the air above him and now wilkin's hair is

parted on the other side."

You say, "What are wounds figured by again?"

GM says, "Average of strength and endurance. rounded down "

GM says, "You take that many wounds you are unconsious. Take the sum and you

die."

Emsworth says, "Rounded up, surely?"

AllenPrice says, "Rounded up, for consciousness."
